Money & Pricing
Quantity
How many units of a line item an estimate calls for — squares, feet, hours, or each.
On a real claim
Quantity is how many units a line item calls for, such as 32 squares of shingles or 180 feet of ridge. On a claim the quantities come from the measurements and the reviewer checks them against the sketch. What goes wrong: overstated quantities invite a re-price and understated ones leave work unpaid. Check that each quantity traces back to a measurement you can show.
