See what is often missing from a carrier scope, before you sign it.
Most carrier roof scopes leave out the same few line items: drip edge, ice and water shield, ridge vent, permit and dump fees, and code-required flashing. A Scope Audit checks your scope against what these documents commonly miss and names what looks absent, so you can see whether your estimate looks short before you sign it.

What a Scope Audit looks for
First-pass carrier scopes leave out the same kinds of items again and again. A Scope Audit checks your scope against the buckets below and names what looks absent, so a gap shows up while you can still do something about it. These are the buckets:
Code-required items
Ice and water shield, drip edge, and the flashing details the local code asks for. These tend to be required work that never made it onto the first pass.
Tear-off and disposal
The removal of the old roof and the dump and haul-off that rides with it. Easy to leave off when a scope is written from a photo.
Ventilation
Ridge vent, intake vent, and the balance between them. A re-roof that only calls for field shingles leaves the roof breathing wrong.
Decking and sheathing
The plywood or OSB under the shingles, and replacement of the damaged sheets once the old roof is off.
Accessories and trim
Rake edge, gable trim, valley metal, and the small accessory lines that finish the roof but do not always get their own line.
Permit and fees
The permit itself and the inspection that goes with it. A real cost of the job that is sometimes simply absent.
Overhead and profit
O and P on the work performed when a general contractor or multiple trades are involved. Worth checking whether it belongs.
General conditions and matching
Detach and reset, protection, cleanup, and continuous or matching materials. The items that make the finished job match the house.
How a Scope Audit works
Request the audit
Leave your name and email in the form. That is the whole ask. No signup and no card.
We check your scope
We read your carrier scope against the items these documents commonly leave off, the way we would check any roof estimate before it goes back in.
Your report comes back by email
You get a short, plain list: what looks absent, and what is worth a second look before you accept the number.
What it is, and what it is not
A Scope Audit is a plain second look at the scope in front of you. It is not a price and it is not a promise of more money. It is a list of the items that commonly go missing, so you can ask better questions before you accept the number.
