A clause in some homeowner policies that requires the insurer to pay to match undamaged parts of a building, such as the surrounding siding or shingles, when the repair would otherwise look different. The provision exists because a freshly patched roof or wall can appear visibly different next to aged materials. It often has a limit or an age condition, so a carrier may approve matching or decline it based on the policy wording.
