Line item dispute

A disagreement over a specific line in an estimate, such as the quantity, the price, or the product code used for a repair. Line item disputes are common in insurance restoration because carriers review every line. Contractors often resolve them with a supplement that includes photos, measurements, and justification for the line in question. Preparing a clean estimate with correct codes reduces how many line item disputes happen at all.
