Ice and water membrane

A self-adhesive rubberized underlayment installed on a roof in the areas most vulnerable to ice damming and water intrusion, such as the eaves, valleys, and around penetrations. The membrane protects the roof deck from the freeze-and-thaw cycles that cause leaks. Because it costs more than standard underlayment, it is installed only in the required zones, and the estimator measures those areas separately so the adjuster can verify the amount.
