Field adjuster

An insurance adjuster who visits damaged properties to inspect the loss in person. The field adjuster measures the damage, takes photos, and compares the contractor's estimate against the actual conditions at the site. After the inspection, the adjuster approves a scope or discusses changes. Because the field adjuster sees the property directly, the estimate and supporting documentation the contractor prepares are what determine the final payment.
