Emergency tarping

A temporary protective cover placed over an open or damaged roof after a storm. Tarping, along with board-up of broken windows and doors, is one of the first steps in emergency mitigation because it stops rain from entering the building and causing further damage. Insurance carriers typically reimburse reasonable tarping expenses, and contractors document the placement, the material used, and the date to support the claim.
