Anti-concurrent causation

A policy clause stating that when a covered cause and a non-covered cause together produce a loss, the loss may be treated as not covered. It matters when wind opens a roof and rain then soaks the house, because the policy may attribute the water to the excluded cause. Adjusters read the clause carefully before setting coverage.
